I´m in Berlin with Johan for meetings with agents, partners and our PR agency for Germany. All this at the same time as the IFA fair, the biggest home electronics fair in Europe (maybe the World?) is going on. The weather is GREAT, 26c and fresh September air!
On Friday evening we went for a VIP dinner at the Olympia Stadium (1936 Olympic games) and attended the firework competition. I have to say that I didn’t have any expectations for this, but the way they arranged the show together with music was very impressing! Sure, maybe a little to much German march music in some parts…
The fair is huge!!! We should have cleared a few more days to be able to go over the fair properly. Well, well, still we looked at the most important things for Urbanista at the moment. I saw some really nicely design things that I will try to write about later… We also ran into Alois making the smart decision to bring his Urbanista DraMaten – New York trolley to the fair!
Note the guys in the band wearing lederhosen from the southern parts of Germany. They were playing in a beer tent at the fair, serving grilled pig and HUGE beers, a little something for everybody.
We went out for a spontaneous dinner, thai food and cocktails (in true Berlin style…) in a really nice (read interesting) area in the eastern part (Kastanienallee) on Saturday. But when it was time to hit the clubs, we were so tired that we called it a night and headed back to the hotel with wobbling legs.
The weekend have been great and I must say, Ich bin ein Berliner /Daniel
